I like to cook, exploring the ingredients and the process of creating dishes, learning new tricks along the way

Cooking and producing music are very similar

to make a dish, we have to know the ingredients

and understand the process of combining different flavours

in music, the ingredients are  the sounds

the process involves combining and structuring those sounds to create a musical dish

We can observe two dimensions:

we have the layering of sounds, the layering of tastes

different tastes combine differently to create a new taste ( sweet, sour, salt, bitter )

 two sounds when combined together create a third sound with a new sonic flavor

This is the process of orchestration or production

HORIZONTAL

we have time

tastes reveal themselves gradually as we discover the hidden flavors in a specific dish

In music the sounds reveal themselves over the length of the composition
