Food and Music are often related, a symphony is made up of several movements, a menu in a banquet also takes us through an experience made of several episodes

MUSICAL STRUCTURE

Sectional form

This form is built from a sequence of clear-cut units [ introduction and coda, exposition, development and recapitulation, verse, chorus and refrain, and bridge Sectional form include

Strophic form

    Medley or chain form. it is simply an indefinite sequence of self-contained sections (ABCD...), (AABBCCDD...).

Binary form

    The term "Binary Form" is used to describe a musical piece with two sections that are about equal in length. Binary Form can be written as AB or AABB

Ternary form

    Ternary form is a three-part musical form in which the third part repeats or at least contains the principal idea of the first part, represented as A B A

Rondo form 

    This form has a recurring theme alternating with different (usually contrasting) sections called "episodes". It may be asymmetrical (ABACADAEA) or symmetrical (ABACABA)

Variation form

Sonata

A group of pieces called MOVEMENTS, Basic sonata has 4 movements

  1. Important, Dramatic - Sonata form

  2. Slow movement - Any form

  3. Minuet/scherzo - Dance form

  4. Finale/Lively - Sonata or rondo form

Symphony - a sonata for orchestra

Concierto - A sonata for one or more solo instrument playing alongside of and orchestra

Thai meal structure is more like a Rondo because  it combines on the table many kind of soups, curries, stir fried and deep fried dish ... we can choose what we want to eat then move to another dish as a  variety of flavours burst into our mouths.

In Italy and other Western countries, the multi course menu is very common.is arranged in a sequence from Aperitivo to Digestive as each taste is appreciated within the context of the meal structure. Personally, I think Italian meal structure is similar to sonata, because sonata has formal structure movements.
